Create a group chat on Workplace Chat

You can message up to 500 coworkers at once on Workplace Chat.
Groups with more than 50 members will not show read receipts, including the time last seen for users. Large groups will also not show green active presence dots, or immediately load the full list of members in the chat upon opening. Members who will be shown immediately include:
  • Members who have recently sent, reacted or seen a message
  • External, guest or blocked users
    • For groups with more than 100 members, profile pictures will no longer show when members see a message.
    Start a group chat using Workplace in a desktop browser
    1. Click Chats Chats in the left menu on Workplace.
    2. Click Create new chat Create new chat.
    3. Type and then select the name of the people you want to message.
    4. Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
    5. To send the message, either press enter or click Send.
